LIVANCI defines the traditional production process of Şile Fabric as the ROOT METHOD.

The journey of authentic Şile Fabric pieces produced through the ROOT METHOD begins with natural cotton yarn. Woven on traditional black looms, the fabric is washed along the shores of Şile, where it settles into its form.

Unlike industrial textiles treated with synthetic or chemical processes, Şile Fabric remains breathable, responsive, and alive in its structure.

This living character reveals itself again when the fabric meets water. Natural cotton fibers rebalance and subtly move upon contact, reflecting their organic nature. LIVANCI pieces are designed with this quality in mind. To accommodate the natural behavior of cotton, a 1–2 cm tolerance is incorporated into each size. As with all natural fibers, slight measurement variations may occur — typically observed only when care instructions other than gentle dry cleaning are applied.

During this process, especially in washes outside of gentle dry cleaning, a natural form movement may be visible. This is not a flaw, but an expression of the fabric’s authentic and untreated character.

This organic responsiveness may also introduce a subtle flexibility in measurement. When pressed at low temperature, the fabric naturally returns to its intended form.

Our models are crafted in two distinct Şile Fabric textures according to their intended purpose: STRUCTURED (TOK) and LIGHTWEIGHT (İNCE).
